Interlibrary Loan:

Whippanong Library card holders may request books, media and photocopies held at other libraries in person, by phone or online. Our patrons have access to over two million volumes within Morris County, two million more volumes throughout New Jersey at various public, school, and university libraries and other institutions willing to lend. A small fee may be charged to cover mailing costs.

What the pass entitles you to

Seed Exchange:

Available to Whippanong Library cardholders, the seed exchange offers gardeners an additional resource for non-GMO seeds.  Our thanks to the High Mowing Seed Exchange and C. Atlee Burpee Company for donating the seeds.  Return unused seeds or donate the seeds you dried at the end of the growing season or when the seeds are no longer needed.  The exchange and sign out sheet are by the jigsaw puzzle exchange.

Reserves/Holds:

All Whippanong Library materials, except our special Popular Titles collection, may be placed on reserve in person, by phone or through the Public Online Request System. When the requested material is available, the patron will be notified by phone or email. Patrons have 7 days in which to pick up reserved materials.

Renewals:

Books may be renewed in person, online, or by phone a maximum of 2 times provided the books have no prior requests.  DVDs, CDs and audiobooks may be renewed once provided there are no holds.

Loan Periods:

• Periodicals – 1 week
• DVDs & Blu-rays – 1 week
• Music CDs – 2 weeks
• Audiobooks – 4 weeks
• Books – 4 weeks
• New Books – 2 weeks

Borrowing Privileges:

• Whippanong Library Cardholders (Hanover Township Residents only) – Full Borrowing Privileges
• Other Morris County Municipality Cardholders (Non-Hanover Twp. Residents) – Partial Borrowing Privileges
• Non-Morris County residents –  Partial Borrowing Privileges: Morris County Library Courtesy Cardholders (Non-Morris County residents employed in Hanover Twp. not eligible for Open Borrowing)

Computer Use:

• 1 hour time limit
• Flash drives may be used in the computer terminals.
Flash drives are available to purchase for $3.00 at the front desk.
• Earbuds are available for purchase for $1.00, and headphones are available for use while in the Library.

Computer screen magnifier is available on a first-come first-served basis.

3D Printer:

3D printer policy
• $.10 per gram
($.20 per gram for specialty colors)

Scanning:

• All scanning is performed only by staff
• Download to USB or computer drive
• Print from scan – B&W, $.10 per page; Color, $.25 per page
• Note – double-sided document or pictures are considered two pages.

Lost Library Card:

• $2.00 replacement charge

Overdue Fines:

• Books & Magazines – $.10 per day
• CDs – $.10 per day
• DVDs/Blu-ray – $.10 per day
