Interlibrary Loan:

Whippanong Library card holders may request books, media and photocopies held at other libraries in person, by phone or online. Our patrons have access to over two million volumes within Morris County, two million more volumes throughout New Jersey at various public, school, and university libraries and other institutions willing to lend. A small fee may be charged to cover mailing costs.

What the pass entitles you to

Readers & Magnifier:

Did you arrive only to discover you forgot your glasses?  Do you have trouble reading your email, a document or spreadsheet?  The library has a screen magnifier to help.  The entire page you’re viewing is magnified, regardless the site or the program you’re using.  The magnifier is available on a first-come first-served basis.  Also available on a first-come first-served basis are readers that you can use during your visit, in strengths of 100, 1.25, 200, 2.75, and 3.50.  Please note, you need your library card to use these readers.


All Whippanong Library materials, except our special Popular Titles collection, may be placed on reserve in person, by phone or through the Public Online Request System. When the requested material is available, the patron will be notified by phone or email. Patrons have 7 days in which to pick up reserved materials.


Books may be renewed in person, online, or by phone a maximum of 2 times provided the books have no prior requests.  DVDs, CDs and audiobooks may be renewed once provided there are no holds.

Borrowing Privileges:

• Whippanong Library Cardholders (Hanover Township Residents only) – Full Borrowing Privileges
• Other Morris County Municipality Cardholders (Non-Hanover Twp. Residents) – Partial Borrowing Privileges

Computer Policies:

• 1 hour time limit
• Flash drives may be used in the computer terminals.
Flash drives are available to purchase for $2.00 at the front desk.

($.20 per gram for specialty colors)

• Download to USB or computer drive – first 10 pages free, then $.10 per page

• $2.00 replacement charge

• Books – $.10 per day
• CDs – $.10 per day

The goal of the Whippanong Library is to provide an environment that will allow its patrons to fully use and enjoy all its resources.  To accomplish this the Library staff asks its patrons to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful of others and to preserve and protect the Library’s materials, facilities, and property.
